The Danger of a "Perfect" Mindset to Successfully Changing

February 17, 2017 Vicki Schmitt

You’re striving to be perfect, looking for the perfect person, trying to find the perfect job, attempting to make a perfect decision at all times (and the list goes on and on).

The pressure is mounting – this is an impossible standard!

You’re setting yourself up for failure in your attempt for consistent perfection, and you’ll find that you’re starting to lose joy in the process. You find yourself getting no pleasure in your attempts to do anything because they don’t end in total perfection. All of this leads to an overall lack of satisfaction that permeates through your life.

In order to get back on track, you need to strive for continuous learning, not perfection. Once that’s your goal, you’ll realize life is not a straight path, and you can't connect the dots forward – only backward. There will be many pivots along the way, but trust the process and see where it takes you!

There is no perfect decision, so let go of your fears and just make one!
